The Rwandan genocide of 1994 is one of the darkest moments in human history. An airplane crash involving the presidents of Rwanda and Burundi provided the spark for an organised campaign of violence against the Tutsi and moderate Hutu civilians across the country. On this educational tour, we educate visitors on the historical events that led to the genocide, but we also emphasize the importance of unity and love within our current Rwandan communities and the world at large. The tour costs cover the guide, lunch, snacks, water and transport.

2. Gorilla trekking

The critically endangered mountain gorilla can only be found in two locations in the world, one of which is Volcanoes National Park. Rwanda has taken a tremendous effort in recent years to not only protect but to grow its population of mountain gorillas. Discover these rare creatures on a day tour from Kigali, and learn more from your accompanying park rangers about the work done to protect them.
